"Inventive stagings and impressive cast" - The New York Times
Auditions for principal roles in our January, 2011 production, to be sung in English, will be held in September, 2010. Specific repertoire for the season will be determined in June and posted here.
All interested in auditioning should send their material, ALONG WITH A SELF-ADDRESSED STAMPED ENVELOPE, to the company at: 5 Minerva Place, #2J, Bronx, New York, 10468. An audition notice, with details as to how to proceed, will be returned in that envelope in the summer. All materials should be sent by regular mail; no UPS or FedEx. please. CDs and DVDs need not be included with your material.
The company hears both managed and unmanaged singers who have had previous PROFESSIONAL experience singing full roles WITH ORCHESTRA. All roles are open; it is our policy to double cast in appropriate situations. The company mounts its full productions, with orchestra and sung in English, after a careful and detailed music and dramatic preparation period. A modest honorarium is given to all participants. Because of the above, it is usually impractical for those living far away from the New York City area to participate. The opera opens in the Lovinger Theatre at Lehman College in the northwest Bronx for two performances on January 15 and 16, 2011 and then moves to the Kaye Playhouse of Hunter College in Manhattan for two additional performances on the following weekend.
If you are interested in primarily being considered for an understudy position and/or would like to audition for the chorus, please contact our Chorus Master, Michael Haigler, at bronxoperachorus@gmail.com. Thank you for your interest in our company.
